The international Digital Out of Home Agency PSI partnering with Liveposter recently used TransportAPI data as part of an innovative campaign promoting the new British Gas Home Hive product. Targeting commuters travelling home in colder temperatures the responsive ads featured temperature updates and tailored messages reminding travellers and commuters that with Hive they could control their heating and hot water from their phone for example, ‘The 274’s on its way, turn on your heating without delay’.

Transvision screens at London train stations and digital six-sheets at bus stops let commuters know when transport was delayed and reminded them to warm up the house while they travelled while office foyer messages served up temperature reminders. Pamela Brown, Head of Marketing and Insight for connected homes at British Gas explained:

“As the nights close in and temperatures drop, we wanted to remind busy, active Londoners and commuters there was a clever, easy way of staying in control of central heating as well as energy costs. We loved this campaign, as it used smart technology to communicate a smart brand idea – you can now control your heating and hot water wherever you are.”
