TransportAPI at the London Marathon

Yesterday’s London marathon saw a record breaking 39,487 people complete the 26 mile run. With crowds of friends and relatives cheering them on along the route, how does this effect London’s transport network?
tube-radar.com (powered by TransportAPI’s tube performance data) on Sunday showed the underground network running normally (green), but the DLR was slowed (orange)

Perhaps that might have been caused by many London visitors heading out to the east, where good marathon vantage points are to be found.
But it’s also 26 miles of road closures! The Official London Marathon Website Road Closures map charted all of this and included data from TransporAPI!

This site is powered by our friends Elgin, developers of roadworks.org. Go there for a clearer (non-marathon related) more up-to-date view of current roadworks. Under the layer options, and ‘Public Transport’, you can enable bus, train and tube information from TransportAPI!
